read more | | Featured StoryBy Howard Stutz Four weeks before opening the $2.4 billion Venetian Macau, Las Vegas Sands executives said the resort was ready to be unveiled. The massive 3,000-room resort, the first facility to open on the Cotai Strip, opens Aug. 28 with a 550,000-square-foot casino, 1.2 million square feet of meeting space and 1 million square feet of retail with 350 stores. "On the day we open, in the 5,000-year history of Asia, it will be a historic event," Las Vegas Sands President Bill Weidner said.
