WSOP making stop in Pennsylvania12 January 2011WASHINGTON, Pennylvania -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The famous World Series of Poker (WSOP) makes its first stop Sunday at The Meadows – and the winner will earn a place in the prestigious event in Las Vegas for a right to be crowned the best poker player in the world. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) will tournament will begin at 1:30 p.m. In addition to earning a seat at the 2011 WSOP in Las Vegas, the winner also receives $10,000 and $2,000 for travel expenses. There is a $100 buy-in and a $25 entry fee. Players will get 12,000 chips, 20-minute rounds and 3,000 bonus chips. The WSOP is the largest, richest and most prestigious gaming event in the world awarding millions of dollars in prize money and the prestigious gold bracelet, globally recognized as the sport's top prize. Featuring a comprehensive slate of tournaments in every major poker variation, the WSOP is poker's longest running tournament in the world, dating back to 1970. The Poker Room, located on the lower Racetrack Level, is a private non-smoking room complete with a bar and lounge area and an environment unmatched in the region. It features daily tournaments with popular games such as No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em, Sit and Go, and 7-card Stud. Blinds start at $25/50 and will increase at each level of the tournament.
