WPT Foundation Pala Poker Open to offer $100,000 guarantee20 August 2015(PRESS RELEASE) -- Pala Casino Resort and Spa will host the WPT Foundation Pala Poker Open September 4-13 highlighted by the $100,000 Main Event from Friday – Sunday, September 11-13. Play will start at 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday in the Pala Events Center. The buy-in will be $900+$100+100 and $100 of every $1,100 buy-in will be donated to Special Olympics Southern California. Players will start with $20,000 in tournament chips and blinds will be 40 minutes. On Friday and Saturday, registration will be open until level 10. Main Event Satellite tournaments will be played at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, September 11 and Last Chance Satellites will be played at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., on Saturday, September 12. The WPT Foundation Pala Poker Open will get under way with a cocktail party at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, in Pala’s Infinity Showroom. Registered players, guests and the public may attend and meet WPT celebrities Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten. The remaining schedule of play includes (all in the Pala Events Center): 4 p.m., Friday, September 4, No Limit Hold’em, $50,000 guarantee: $200+$30 buy-in; $15,000 starting chips; 30-minute blinds; registration until level 8. 11 a.m., Saturday, September 5, No Limit Hold’em, $50,000 guarantee: $200+$30 buy-in; $15,000 starting chips; 30-minute blinds; registration until level 8. 7 p.m., Saturday, September 5, Pot Limit Omaha: $100+$20 buy-in; $10,000 starting chips; 30-minute blinds. 11 a.m., Sunday, September 6, No Limit Hold’em, $15,000 guarantee: $200+$20 buy-in; $15,000 starting chips; 30-minute blinds. 1 p.m., Sunday, September 6: Re-Start Event 1. 11 a.m., Monday, September 7, No Limit Hold’em: $85+$15 buy-in; $10,000 starting chips; 15-minute blinds. 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, No Limit Hold’em Survivor:$85+$15 buy-in; $15,000 starting chips; 15-minute blinds. 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, No Limit Hold’em “Green Chip” $150 Bounty: $150+$25 buy-in; $15,000 starting chips; 30-minute blinds. 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m., Thursday, September 10: Main Event Super Satellites. 11 a.m., Sunday, September 13, No Limit Hold’em “Second Chance:” $150+$25 buy-in; $15,000 starting chips; 30-minute blinds. Popular poker promotions that will continue in September include the No Limit Rolling Hourly High Hand that will be in play from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. each Sunday through Thursday, and 1 a.m. to 8 a.m., each Saturday and Sunday; the High Hand, which will be in play from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday. Hold’em will pay $100 and Omaha, $50; the Limit Flush Marathon that will continue from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Friday for 3-6-9 players and above, and Chase for the Dough from Midnight, September 1, until Midnight, September 30, with a $10,000 prize pool. Players win by accumulating live-play hours. Forty hours wins $60; 60 hours gets $200 and 80 hours, $400. When players cash out, hours return to zero.
