WinStar World Casino plans weeklong Lunar New Year celebration31 January 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- As the 2018 Lunar New Year quickly approaches, WinStar World Casino and Resort is undergoing preparations to usher in the Year of the Earth Dog with a weeklong celebration beginning 11 February. In addition to Lunar New Year inspired decorations throughout the casino and an Asian-inspired menu at Gran Via Buffet, guests can enjoy interactive character performers in vibrant, authentic costumes. The dates and times of performances are the following: 11-15 February from 6 to 8 p.m.; 16-18 February from 3 to 5 p.m., 6 to 8 p.m. and 9 to 11 p.m. A free Vietnamese variety concert, Mau Tuat, will take place on Sunday, 18 February at 8 p.m. inside the Global Event Center. The show will celebrate Nguyen Cao Ky Duyên's 30th Anniversary. Tickets are available at any open table games pit, at the Rome Box Office or via a casino host while supplies last. "Guests will not be disappointed with the scheduled entertainment and festivities we have lined up for this year's Lunar New Year celebration," said Stephanie Callaway, WinStar's entertainment manager. "On 18 February, we are bringing back one of the memorable acts from last year — a character drummer that will lead the amazing lion dancers as they breathe fire and dance throughout Rome Gaming Plaza, leading guests into the Global Event Center for Mau Tuat." Guests can pick up special $2 bills to commemorate the 2018 Lunar New Year festivities. The bills will be distributed from table game pits beginning 1 February while supplies last.
