Water Dog to open at Bally's Atlantic City

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Water Dog founder, Steve Marchel announced the 16 August opening of Water Dog, its newest restaurant in Bally's Atlantic City, New Jersey, marking the company’s 2nd location in the area. Water Dog AC will be the sister location to Water Dog Smoke House, located in neighboring Ventnor, New Jersey which has been packing them in ever since their opening in 2019, offering a new concept in craft-casual dining.

Water Dog Atlantic City will occupy 8,000 square feet of space, feature 220 dining seats, a 35-seat bar with a super-creative and fun cocktail list, a large open-floor concept with plenty of seating for fast-casual dining, along with live music every weekend, says General Manager, John Connor. “Think casual, yet high-energy bar and restaurant with a bit more flair. Features like big-screen televisions, rotating local brewery beer taps, and live entertainment are a few things you can expect to find at our new Bally’s location—and of course our creative and tasty menu .” Water Dog AC will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring a large eclectic mix of choices like Poke Bowls, their famous Maine Lobster Rolls, Jersey Scallop Rolls, Artisanal Bagels with Smoked Fish, stacked NY Style Sandwiches, as well as dinner entrees such as Truffle Grilled Filet Mignon, Cedar Plank Atlantic Salmon, and Port Rosemary Braised Short Rib, among others. Water Dog features an ambitious and broad food and cocktail menu to satisfy all palates with an array of creative and healthy culinary choices. This is Water Dog Atlantic City, opening at Bally’s Hotel & Casino.

Our dining room is open seven days a week from 8AM to 10PM, Sunday through Thursday, and 8AM to 11PM on Friday and Saturday. Our bar hours are 8AM to 11PM, Sunday through Thursday, and 8AM to 2AM, on Friday and Saturday. The kitchen is led by Alexander Morris who previously filled Executive Chef roles at Ocean Casino Resort. Alex is excited about returning to his stand-alone concept roots with Water Dog AC, having begun his career in family run restaurants in West Chester, PA.

Water Dog’s breakfast menu features classics like Scrambles and Omelets, Benedicts, Maple Plates, Tartines, and our signature breakfast sandwiches like Smoked Salmon, White Fish Salad, Short Rib and Ham Bechamel. Bottomless Mimosa’s are also available to kick-start your morning, which will be offered 7 days a week. Our lunch menu begins with appetizers featuring Loaded Truffle Fries, Jicama Pork Tacos, Esquites and Crab Cakes. Our Poke Bowls will have everyone wanting more. Choose from Crab & Avocado, Ahi Tuna & Salmon, Spicy Pork, Unagi and Shrimp & Chicken. Hamburgers are part of our lineup, Featuring Pat LaFrieda’s blend of Short-Rib, Brisket, and Chuck including our Connor’s Patty Melt. For every Patty Melt sold Water Dog will donate $1 to the Community Food Bank Of New Jersey. Another item to look out for is our Betty’s Scallop Roll. For every scallop roll sold, Water Dog will donate $1 to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic County.

The dinner menu is just as enticing, featuring mouth-watering lobster rolls, (no filler, just meat) Truffle Grilled Filet Mignon, Flat Iron Steak, Cedar Plank Atlantic Salmon, Roasted Lemon Half-Chicken, Port Rosemary Short Rib and Sea Bass with Tropical Salsa. To complement our menus, we will have two handcrafted cocktail menus, an approachable wine list and feature local craft beers daily. Also included in our lineup, Water Dog will highlight our own Bourbon, distilled by Makers Mark, as well as feature local favorites like Mr. Fingers Alibi Gin, Little Water Distillery Liberty Rum and Stateside Vodka.

At the heart of Water Dog is a love for fresh, creatively prepared food and craft cocktails. While many of the recipes come directly from the cookbook used in the Ventnor location, Water Dog is thrilled to broadly expand their culinary line-up while sharing their vision of Craft Casual Restaurant meets New York Deli, with the entire Tri State community in the new Ballys AC location. "We look forward to adding Water Dog to our mix of restaurants located at Dining On The Sixth. This unique dining experience will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night options for our guests. Water Dog's bar and live music will bring additional energy to the property," said Phil Juliano, Executive Vice President, Casino Operations & Chief Marketing Officer, at Bally's Corporation. Water Dog will be your go-to restaurant for a casual date night, a night out with friends enjoying the most creative cocktails in Atlantic City, a gathering spot for a sporting event, or hosting a large party, celebrating special occasions. Water Dog caters to the foodie in all of us, with an emphasis on freshness, taste, creativity and fun.
