The Meadows Granted Temporary License27 March 2006PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: "The North Strabane Township Planning Commission has granted The Meadows interim approval of plans to build a temporary casino at its 153-acre Racetrack Road site. "But until the Department of Environmental Protection signs off on a sewage facilities plan, final site plan approval cannot be granted, planning commission coordinator Paulette Moyar said. "The Meadows is in the process of being sold to Millennium Gaming Inc., which owns casinos in Las Vegas and Detroit. Plans to build a temporary casino holding 1,500 slot machines were discussed Monday at the township meeting. "Plans call for the facility, with an aluminum substructure, to be built on an unused parking lot off Johnson Road and not to be visible from Racetrack Road.
