The Brook announces signature culinary events with Chef Jeffrey Weiss

11 April 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Brook, America’s largest charity casino located minutes from the New Hampshire-Massachusetts border, is leveling up the culinary and cocktail scene on the Seacoast, announcing today a new partnership with celebrity chef Jeffrey Weiss.

Chef Weiss will host numerous events at The Brook in the coming months, beginning on Friday, 5 May with a Cinco De Mayo party featuring elevated small bites, a series of craft tequila cocktails, and live salsa music. On Saturday, 27 May, the Chef will be back to bring the Granite State his one-of-a-kind take on the Pig Roast, exclusively for The Brook, taking a page from his Gourmand World Cookbook Award-winning and James Beard Award-nominated cookbook, Charcutería: The Soul of Spain.

Other events in the series include a Classic New England Lobster and Clambake (8 July), two special Spanish Summer Nights (14-15 July) featuring Chef Weiss’ legendary paellas, and an autumn festival (30 September). Later in the year, Chef Weiss will spearhead a winter-themed Whiskey Experience (15 December) and Wine Experience (16 December).

“Over the last two years,” said The Brook’s CEO Andre Carrier. “We have remodeled and reinvented the race and sportsbook, we have totally redone our casino floor, we have built New England’s largest sports bar with hundreds of tables inside and outside, and we have debuted a proper Cabaret Showroom. Now, it’s time to elevate our dining and culinary game, so that we make good on our mission to be one of New England’s ‘best night out.”

Chef Weiss' award-winning cookbook chronicles his time cooking in Spain where he spent time in internationally-renowned kitchens like 3-Michelin-starred Calima, under Chef Daní García. He has also worked with Michelin-starred and James Beard Award-winning Chef/Humanitarian José Andrés in the U.S.

Chef Weiss has since held executive chef positions and consulted on culinary projects across the U.S. until creating Valencian Gold, a tapas and live-fire paella restaurant that is a two-time winner of Thrillist’s “Top Restaurants in Las Vegas” and one of Eater’s “Hottest Restaurants in Las Vegas.” He also received four “Best of Las Vegas” awards and a “Best in the City” award in Valencian Gold’s reopening year, along with a featured appearance on the Cooking Channel.

“I’m excited to collaborate with The Brook’s amazing and dedicated hospitality team, and share my culinary journey with our guests in this series of curated events,” said Chef Weiss. “We have some incredible events planned, and my goal is to make each event a can’t-miss experience!”

The Brook is a 90,000 square-foot entertainment destination that sits 40 miles from Boston and an easy drive for most residents of Massachusetts and Maine. In addition to a casino floor with over 500 of the most popular gaming machines, The Brook offers players a range of casino table games, a live poker room, a DraftKings Sportsbook that is the largest of its kind in New England, the state’s only Stadium Gaming area with live dealers and digital screens, and simulcast racing seven days a week.

Using a charity casino model, The Brook has distributed over $9 million to local organizations such as Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire, Annie’s Angels, and Rockingham Nutrition Meals on Wheel since Nevada-based Eureka Casino Resort acquired the property in 2019.
