The B-52s, special guest The Fixx to perform at Pala Casino

(PRESS RELEASE) -- New wave stars The B-52s with special guests The Fixx will perform in concert at 8 p.m., Friday, 21 July, at the Starlight Theater at Pala Casino Spa and Resort.

The B-52s, founded in 1976 in Atlanta, GA, is one of the quintessential 1980s bands that continue to perform. Its best-selling hits have been "Love Shack" and "Roam," while "Rock Lobster" also remains popular. Rooted in new wave and 1980s rock, the group later covered many genres, ranging from post-punk to pop.

The Fixx are a new wave and rock band formed in 1979 in London. The band's hits include "One Thing Leads To Another," "Saved By Zero," "Are We Ourselves" and "Secret Separation," all of which made the U.S. Top 20. Early MTV video hits included "Red Skies" and "Stand or Fall" and "Drive Out" and "Deeper and Deeper" were mainstream rock chart toppers. The latter was on the sound track of the 1984 film Streets of Fire.
