Steve Alkema wins $902 in Pala 5K Nooner chop4 September 2013PALA, Calif. -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Steve Alkema of Fallbrook, Calif., was the chip leader when the final seven players decided to chop, and he won $902 and first place in the Sunday, Sept. 1, 5K Nooner poker tournament at Pala Casino Resort and Spa. The $5,000 prize pool tournament hosted 58 entrants and the other six winners received $683 each. All requested to remain anonymous. The End of the Month 15K Nooner Championship will be played Sunday, Sept. 29. Registration will be accepted until 2 p.m. The entry fee will be $120 and there will be two, $25 re-buys or add-ons. The winner's name will be engraved on the Pala Signature Cup and his/her photo will be published in Card Player Magazine. 5K Nooner tournaments will continue each Sunday in September with registration until 2 p.m. The entry will be $50 + $15 with a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players will start with $5,000 in chips and there will be an optional $10 staff bonus buy for an additional $5,000 in chips. There will be one $25 re-buy offered in the first four levels for $3,000 in chips. There will be late and re-entries for four levels. Blinds will be 30 minutes for four levels and 20 minutes thereafter. Those who play live poker from 8 a.m. to noon each Sunday will receive $500 in bonus chips for the 5K Nooner tournaments for each hour played. |
