Spa Resort Casino begins new parking area construction13 July 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- Crews are installing fencing and making site preparations for the construction of a new parking structure being built by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians in an area just north of the Spa Resort Casino in downtown. It is expected that construction of the parking structure will take about one year, with parking opening in 2017. The structure will feature 850 parking stalls. The Tribe selected McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. as the general contractor for the project. McCarthy is a premier parking structure builder in California and the largest General Contractor in Southern California. McCarthy was founded in 1864, and is the oldest, privately held construction firm in the United States. In its time, the company has built more than 300,000 parking spaces including the County of Riverside parking structure in Indio, the UC Santa Barbara San Clemente parking structure and the Disneyland Mickey & Friends parking structure, just to name a few. In addition, McCarthy is known in the Coachella Valley as the builder of Rancho Mirage High School. During construction, there are many areas designated for self-parking, and Spa Resort Casino guests can use a temporary valet along Calle Encilia. Though some parking spaces at the Spa Resort Casino will be temporarily closed during the construction of the parking structure, the total number of valet, self-parking, and handicap accessible spaces has been increased in the past year to provide for guest convenience through this transition. "The Spa Resort Casino team looks forward to providing convenient covered parking in our ongoing pursuit to offer the best possible experience for our guests and visitors to downtown Palm Springs," said C.J. Graham, Chief Operating Officer of Spa Resort Casino and Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa. |
