South African Casino Hit by Robbers

SOUTH AFRICA – As reported by the South Africa Day: "Several men firing AK-47s stormed into Gold Reef City Casino and got away with R1,2-million in a daring predawn raid on Friday.

"…At 4.15am, as Norman was putting money into a one-armed bandit, between five and eight men, armed with AK-47s, were firing warning shots at Very Important Punters in the exclusive Salon Privé.

"They ordered guests to lie down and then made off with the night's takings from the salon, which sources say totalled about R1,2-million.

"…An eyewitness told Talk Radio 702 about the drama:

"…'There were five men with AK-47s and they got away with R1-million. They even robbed a shopping centre on the corner. The whole place is now swamped with police.'

"…Gold Reef City Casino said no staff or guests were injured in the robbery..."
