SkyCity Escapes Drug Penalty

AUSTRALIA – As reported by the Australia Advertiser: "SkyCity Casino will not be disciplined over its failure to report a man believed to have been 'snorting drugs' at a Port Adelaide Football Club function.

"An investigation by the Independent Gambling Authority has cleared the casino of wrongdoing.

"However, IGA president Stephen Howells has warned SkyCity management that it is 'absolutely necessary' that such incidents be reported to the authority and Liquor and Gambling Commissioner Bill Pryor in future.

"The Advertiser revealed in July that SkyCity surveillance of suspicious behaviour of a patron was ignored because security staff feared it would 'sour' the casino's relationship with the club…"
