Silence Surrounds Christchurch Meeting27 January 2004NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the New Zealand Herald: "Christchurch Casino's board is set to meet today but all lips of its cornerstone shareholders were sealed ahead of what is expected to be a landmark meeting, The Press reported today. "Martyn Kennedy, a representative of British-based 41 per cent shareholder Aspinall, has flown to New Zealand for the board meeting. "Aspinall has been under fire from casino and Skyline Enterprises chairman Barry Thomas, who also controls 41 per cent of the business, for talking to arch-rival Sky City Entertainment about a possible sale of its stake, worth an estimated $92 million (US$62.34 million)…" |
