Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood hosts poker tournament

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Tournament poker returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida from 14-28 November 2018 with the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” (RRPO). This year’s series features 19 primary events and 40 satellites, kicking off with a $360 buy in Deep Stack NLH with a $1 Million Guarantee and headlined by a $3,500 World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship boasting a $2 Million Guaranteed prize pool. The final table for the WPT Championship will take place on Wednesday, 28 November and be filmed for future television airing on Fox Sports Network.

Other highlight events on the 2018 RRPO schedule include:
  • $1,100 NLH One-Day (Re-Entry) $100,000 Guaranteed, starts at 3 p.m. on Sunday, 18 November.
  • $570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry) $250,000 Guaranteed, starts at 11 a.m. on Monday, 19 November.
  • $5,000 Eight-Handed NLH (Re-Entry) $250,000 Guaranteed, starts at noon on Monday, 26 November.
  • $360 Seniors 50+ (Re-Entry), starts at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, 27 November.
“Year in and year out, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open has been one of our best poker series,” Seminole Hard Rock Tournament Director Tony Burns said. “Never was this more apparent than in 2016 when the series-opening $360 buy-in, $1 Million Guarantee drew more than 5,000 entries making it the largest poker tournament in state history. That benchmark stands to this day and we’re eager to get cards in the air for this year’s series which sees us partner with the World Poker Tour to bring the South Florida market a $3,500 buy-in, $2 Million Guarantee Championship.”

Tournament promotions include the property’s signature “Win a Seat” program where participants can visit online to enter for a chance at a $3,500 entry into the WPT Championship. In addition, anyone who plays a tournament event between 14-27 November will receive an entry in the property’s Play to Win drawing. On 28 November, one name will be chosen at random and that player will receive a PokerStars Platinum Pass to the 2019 PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship, valued at $30,000.
