Rickey Smiley to perform at IP Casino Resort and Spa

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Comedian Rickey Smiley will bring his stand-up comedy show to Studio A at IP Casino Resort and Spa on Friday, July 8.

Smiley is best-known for his prank phone calls, where he presents absurd situations and cases of mistaken identity in the voices of one or more of his original characters. He takes on a variety of self-made personas, including "Mrs. Bernice Jenkins," "Lil' Daryl," "Joe Willie" and "Buford." He has released six well-received comedy albums featuring his prank call material.

Smiley is also the star of his own nationally syndicated radio show, "The Rickey Smiley Morning Show," which can be heard on radio stations across the country. The show features Smiley's signature prank phone calls as well as news, music and interviews with entertainers such as Kevin Hart, Ne-Yo, Ice Cube and Nicki Minaj. Smiley also serves as a host on "Dish Nation," a nightly syndicated television program that features celebrity news and humorous commentary on pop culture.

Smiley has also made numerous movie appearances, including "Friday After Next," "First Sunday" and "Baggage Claim." He's hosted and appeared on "BET's Comic View" as well as "Comedy Central Presents," HBO's "Def Comedy Jam" and "Def Comedy Jam: All Stars."

Showtime is 8 p.m. Doors open one hour prior to the show. Tickets start at $35 plus tax and convenience fees. Tickets are available online at the Ip Casino Resort and Spa website or the Ticketmaster website. Tickets can also be purchased at the IP Box Office or at the Ticketmaster kiosk located on property. Guests may call Ticketmaster at (800) 653-8000. Advanced purchase tickets must be picked up at the Box Office the day of the show starting at 1 p.m. Guests must be 21 or older to attend the show. No refunds or exchanges will be permitted.
