Rick Ross rose to national prominence in 2006 when his breakout single “Hustlin’” put Miami back on Hip-Hop’s map and introduced audiences to his unmistakable voice and larger-than-life persona. His debut album, Port of Miami, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and launched a remarkable run in which every one of his studio albums has landed in the Top Ten. Known for cinematic production and luxury-themed storytelling, Ross has delivered platinum-certified hits such as “The Boss,” “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast),” and “Aston Martin Music,” while earning nine Grammy nominations, for God Forgives, I Don’t and Port of Miami 2. The Hip-Hop veteran has his upcoming album "Set In Stone" due out this year, which features the chart-topping radio single "Minks In Miami" featuring French Montana and Max B. Beyond his solo success, Ross is the founder of Maybach Music Group, a powerhouse label that has helped elevate the careers of artists including Meek Mill, Wale, Gunplay, and French Montana. One of hip-hop’s most sought-after collaborators, Ross has contributed standout verses to major hits by DJ Khaled, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, Chris Brown, and others, cementing his reputation as a commanding presence across eras and styles. His influence remained dominant throughout the 2010s, with chart-topping albums such as Mastermind and Teflon Don, plus the multi-platinum success of Maybach Music releases. Born in Clarksdale, Mississippi and raised in Carol City, Florida, Ross began rapping in the mid-1990s before breaking through with Def Jam under the leadership of Jay-Z. His later releases, including Rather You Than Me, Port of Miami 2, and Richer Than I Ever Been (2021), reflect both personal growth and enduring hit-making power. Nearly two decades into his career, Rick Ross remains a defining force in modern Hip-Hop—balancing legacy, relevance, and unmatched presence on and off the stage. |
