Revel sued over "hidden rules" in July slot refund promo

26 August 2013

The Press of Atlantic City reports that the Revel Casino Hotel’s much-publicized “Gamblers Wanted” campaign has attracted a lawsuit by two New Jersey residents who say the $2.4 billion resort ran a deceptive promotion promising to refund slot losses.

According to the Press, the complaint alleges that gamblers “lured” to Revel by the promotion soon learned that its owners “never intended to refund any slot losses” and "relied on their deceptively hidden rules to avoid paying any refunds at all.”

Revel's "Gambler's Wanted" campaign, widely seen as a turning point for Atlantic City’s newest casino after its owners filed bankruptcy in March, appeared to improve Revel’s standing. In July, the Press reports, the casino brought in $23.4 million in revenue from slot machines and table games, a 33 percent increase from last year.
