Resorts to Open Expansion

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "Resorts Atlantic City won preliminary approval Wednesday to open its casino hotel expansion, which it plans to do with a bang July 4.

"The Casino Control Commission unanimously approved Resorts' plans for a 399-room hotel addition and a 35 percent larger casino floor.

"…The $116 million project has three chief parts:

"-A 27-story hotel tower, with 42 suites and standard rooms that Resorts says will be the biggest in town - a minimum of 512 square feet.

"…- A 26,000-square-foot casino addition for 839 more slot machines and 10 more gaming tables.

"…- A relocated porte-cochere, situated between Resorts' old and new hotel towers.

"…When completed, Resorts will have 879 hotel rooms, moving from 12th (last) to ninth on the list of the city's largest casino hotels…"
