PBR returns to Pala May 17-18

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Pala Casino Resort and Spa is turning up the volume and the fun when the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Touring Pro Division returns to the Pala Rodeo Grounds at a new start time, 7 p.m., Saturday, May 17, and 2 p.m., Sunday, May 18.

Saturday, May 17, will be Rockin’ PBR Party Night. The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with live entertainment provided by Dog & Butterfly, the ultimate tribute to Heart, at the rodeo grounds. Plenty of food and drink will be available for purchase as the first round of bull riding action begins at 7 p.m. At 9 p.m., a FREE PBR After Party will start in the Infinity Lounge featuring The Ranch Rockers and at 9:30 p.m., a $5,000 Cash Giveaway starts throughout the casino where five lucky PBR attendees will win $1,000 each. PBR attendees can turn in their ticket stubs for an entry into the drawing. Starting at 9:30 p.m., $1,000 will be awarded each half hour with the final drawing at 11:30 p.m. Winners must be present.

Sunday, May 18, will be Family Fun Day with more food and drink specials and general admission tickets for all adults and children for just $20.

Reserved seat tickets for the Pala PBR Touring Pro Division, $48 and $28 for children 12 and under, $28 for general admission on Saturday, May 17, and $20 for general admission on Sunday, May 18, will go on sale at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21, with no service charge, at the Pala Box Office in the casino, or 1-877-WIN PALA (1-877-946-7252).

The Pala Touring Pro Division event, sponsored by Toyota of Escondido, will again showcase some of the most promising rising stars of the PBR riding alongside fan favorites and veterans and all competitors will face off against the most famous bucking bulls in the world. The Touring Pro Division offers bull riders the opportunity to compete in PBR sanctioned events while they earn prize money to qualify for the PBR’s elite Built Ford Tough World Finals presented by Wrangler.

Mike Lee from Decatur, TX, outpointed 69 other riders on May 5, 2013 to win $6,426 and the fourth Pala PBR Touring Pro Division Championship.
