Pala posts poker schedule for May

PALA, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Southern California poker players can win a lot of cash in May at Pala Casino Resort and Spa when the Poker Room celebrates its fourth anniversary.

A River Card Quest for the Cup tournament at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 25, leads the event schedule and the popular Chase for the Dough promotion will double its prize money to $20,000 for the month. From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 (the actual anniversary date), the Poker Room will offer an hourly $100 High Hand and a $50 Aces Cracked promotion. The anniversary cake will be cut at 4:30 p.m. And the popular Cash Boat and Flush Marathon promotions will continue in May.

The Chase for the Dough will be played bi-weekly from May 1-15 for $10,000 and from May 16-31 for $10,000. Thirty hours of poker play will earn $60; 40, $120; 60, $240; 80, $500; and 120, $750. A player may cash out at any time during the qualification period when a level is obtained. Hours will then be reset to zero. Players will be responsible to check exact playing hours.

Although the River Card Quest for the Cup will start at 10 a.m., registration will be open until noon. The buy-in will be $125+$25 and there will be a $20,000 guarantee. Players will start with $10,000 in chips and there will be a $10 staff bonus buy for an additional $5,000. he winner’s name will be engraved on the River Card traveling trophy and the winner will receive a smaller version of the trophy.

There will be two single-table satellite tournaments played to win seats in the River Card Quest for the Cup from 10 a.m.to 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, and all day on Friday, May 24. The buy-in will be $50 and players will start with $3,000 in chips. First and second place in each satellite will win a Quest for the Cup seat. Third place will pay $75.

A River Card Quest for the Cup Warm-Up tournament will be played at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, with registration until noon. The buy-in will be $100 + $25 with an estimated $10,000 prize pool. Players will start with $10,000 in chips and there will be a $10 staff buy for an additional $5,000. Seat drawings will be made for the Saturday, May 25, main event.

Additional May Tournaments:

Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 7 p.m. The buy-ins will be $25+$5 with $750 guaranteed. Players will start with $3,000 in chips and there will be a $5 staff bonus buy for $1,000 more. There will be one $10 re-buy for an additional $3,000 in chips. This tournament will not be played on Wednesday, May 22 or May 29.

Thursday Deep Stack Turbo: 7 p.m. The buy-in will be $45+$10 with a $1,200 guarantee. Players will start with $20,000 in chips and there will be a $10 staff bonus buy for $5,000 more. There also will be $10 knockout bounties that will be included in the prize pool. Blinds will be 12 minutes with late and re-entries for seven levels.

Friday Night (7 p.m.) and Saturday Morning (10 a.m.) 2K: The buy-in will be $35+$5 with a $2,000 guarantee. Players will start with $3,000 in chips and there will be a $5 optional staff bonus buy for $1,000 more. Blinds will be 15 minutes with late and re-entries for three levels. This tournament will not be played on Saturday, May 18 or May 25.

Sunday 5K Nooner: Noon, but with registration until 2 p.m. The buy-in will be $50+$15 with a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players will start with $5,000 in chips and there will be an optional $5 staff bonus buy for $2,000 more. There will be one, $25 re-buy offered during the first four levels for $3,000 more chips. Blinds will be 30 minutes until the fifth level, then 20 minutes; late and re-entries for four levels. Those who play live poker from 8 a.m. to noon each Sunday will earn $500 bonus chips for the 5K Nooner for each hour played.

Memorial Day: 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, with registration until noon. The buy-in will be $50+$15 with a $5,000 guarantee. Players will start with $3,000 in chips and there will be a $10 bonus buy for $2,000 more. There also will be two $20 add-ons for $5,000 each.

Additional May promotions:

The Cash Boat will be in play from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 4 and 11. The Cash Boat will not be in play on Saturday, May 18 or May 25, during the River Card Warm-Up or the River Card Quest for the Cup. Players who hold a Full House at the end of any live Texas Hold’em game will receive $25 and will then have the opportunity to win $100.

The Flush Marathon will be in play from noon to midnight each Monday and Wednesday, and from 10:30 p.m. on Friday night until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. The first player to receive all four flushes (each suit) will win $350; the second, $150. The Flush Marathon will not be played Wednesday, May 22 or May 29.
