Newcastle Casino plans outdoor light display21 November 2016(PRESS RELEASE) -- As central Oklahoma welcomes the holiday season, Newcastle Casino is making plans for thousands of sparkling lights to be hung with care. Anyone driving south on Interstate 44 will soon see the casino light up the night sky as LED lights of various colors accent the exterior of the casino. The outdoor lights will be turned on the day after Thanksgiving and can be seen from dusk to dawn until 2 January. This is the fourth year for the casino buildings and grounds to be decorated in celebration of the holiday season. Casino officials said this year's decorations are bigger than anything they’ve done before with 15,000 more lights than last year, bringing the total to 50,000 twinkling lights. "We continue to grow and enjoy using our spaces to build a beautiful scene for our community to enjoy," said Ryan Sykes, general manager for Newcastle Casino. "We'll decorate the inside of the casino as well, but people of all ages can enjoy our outdoor light display." Sykes said it takes about a week for crews from Kilian's Landscaping to install the lights. The result is a display that includes a wide variety of colorful lights adorning the grounds, as well as garland around the exterior light poles at the main entrance. |
