Newcastle Casino opens off-track betting area5 May 2017(PRESS RELEASE) -- Action and excitement are racing into Newcastle Casino with the opening of the new off-track betting area, located in the south building, as a partnership between Newcastle Casino and Remington Park. Off-track betting officially opened on 9 March, but the new area will play host to a special event to celebrate the Kentucky Derby on 6 May. Patrons can enjoy free food, drink specials and various giveaways in the off-track betting area. "We're not only excited about the introduction of off-track betting at Newcastle Casino, but also to host a fun event around the Kentucky Derby," said Ryan Sykes, Newcastle Casino general manager. "This new amenity allows our guests to experience the atmosphere created by these big races, allowing them to enjoy the fun and excitement of horse racing right here in Newcastle." The new off-track betting area features 12 flat-screen HDTVs that provide great coverage of the races. Guests can also use any of the 18 ready-to-use individual viewing stations. "We've been looking to provide our guests a fun and convenient way to take part in some exciting horse-racing action," said Sykes. "Remington Park has provided us a great partnership and opportunity to bring this new amenity to our Newcastle patrons. The new off-track betting area will feature horse races from around the country." Guests will be able to watch various thoroughbred horse races, including, said Sykes.
