Newcastle Casino announces summer entertainment schedule27 June 2018(PRESS RELEASE) -- Newcastle Casino recently announced its live entertainment calendar for late summer. Bands play on the entertainment stage in the southeast building from 8 p.m. to midnight. The concerts are free and open to guests 18 years of age and older. Additional details about upcoming featured bands are below. Saturday, 7 July – Superfreak Always ready to bring the party, Superfreak plays the best in disco and funk music as well as today’s top hits across all genres. Friday, 13 July – Tandem Playing a range of music from contemporary top 40 hits to timeless classics, Tandem combines technology, musicianship and production to create their unique sound and style, setting them apart from other two-piece bands. Saturday, 14 July – Avenue Avenue is a fourpiece cover band playing the best of pop, rock, hip hop and more. Saturday, 21 July – Brandi Reloaded Brandi Reloaded is a rock and pop cover band that brings together five talented people and delivers a power-packed show that will appeal to your senses, both musically and visually. Friday, 27 July – Charles Scott Duo A spinoff duo of their already successful band, Drive, the Charles Scott Duo plays a variety of music from Metallica to Merle Haggard. Their sound is eclectic and spans a broad range of genres. Saturday, 28 July – Push Play More than a cover band, Push Play is a musical experience. The band offers a fantastic mix of professionalism and talent. Trading vocals and styles, they move from one genre to another, recreating hits of today and classics from decades past flawlessly. Saturday, 4 August – Stars The Stars have been a popular variety band throughout the region since the 80s. Playing a mixture of dance music, they are constantly evolving to continually perform top dance hits. Their playlist includes music from across the decades, spanning from The Beatles to Prince to Usher. Friday, 10 August – Ocean Duo Saturday, 11 August – Happy Hour A seasoned, entertaining cover band, Happy Hour specializes in pop and rock covers from the '60s to today’s hits. Saturday, 18 August – Layken Urie Layken Urie is country music singer and songwriter out of Oklahoma City, singing original songs as well as covering top country favorites. Friday, 24 August – Charles Scott Duo A spinoff duo of their already successful band, Drive, the Charles Scott Duo plays a variety of music from Metallica to Merle Haggard. Saturday, 25 August – Kyle Ranier Saturday, 1 September – Stars The Stars have been a popular variety band throughout the region since the 80s. Saturday, 8 September – Drive Drive is a five piece band with male and female vocals that cover a wide range of music spanning a variety of sounds from the 60s to today's hits. Friday, 14 September – Aaron Newman Duo From Stoney Larue to Jakob Dylan of the Wallflowers, Aaron Newman has shared the stage with top talent from across the country. Performances often include well-known hits from Elton John to more modern hits of John Mayer. Saturday, 15 September – Wino Browne Wino Browne has been a part of the local live music scene since 2000. Jess Cockerham is the front man, Daniel Finley is on bass and vocals, Darren Finley is lead guitar and vocals and Chris Aragon is on drums and vocals. Their versatile song list keeps Wino Browne in the elite group of truly great local entertainment. Saturday, 22 September – RPM Band The RPM Band is a local favorite and class act. They play hits from the 80s and 90s and pop tunes from today. Friday, 28 September – Derek Harris Duo Derek Harris Duo has been a local favorite for years, playing a wide-range of acoustic ballads from Ray LaMontagne to more upbeat tunes of Bob Marley. Saturday, 29 September – The Weekend All Stars From R&B hits to contemporary and classic pop songs, the Weekend All Stars covers a broad range of catchy favorites across the decades. |
