New Zealand Casino Disagrees with Ruling

NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the New Zealand Herald: "Christchurch Casino has complained to the Chief District Court Judge about a judge who attacked it in a recent fraud sentencing case.

"When sentencing Ian Yee, 34, last month for a $150,000 fraud, Judge Stephen Erber said he had heard the scenario of Yee, a gambling addict, too often.

"…He then went on to criticise the casino.

"…Following the criticism, the casino searched its records for proof that Yee had spent the stolen money there and found none…"
