Network trouble interrupts Derby bettors

3 May 2010

CHURCHILL DOWNS, Kentucky -- A network failure interrupted wagering on the Kentucky Derby, The Thoroughbred Times reported.

The failure occurred at AmTote International's Oregon wagering hub according to the The Thoroughbred Times report.

The extent of the outage is not entirely clear yet, but Churchill Downs stated they intend to investigate it, the report said.

Amtote attributed the outage on May 1, 2010 to high transaction volume, the Thoroughbred Times report noted.
