19 January 2009

CHESTER, West Virginia -- As reported by The Review: "Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack, and Resort announced Friday that it has cut 8.6 percent, or 175 employees, from several of its departments.

"'It's regrettable that our current business conditions are such that we have to take this action today,' said Jack Sours, Mountaineer president and general manager.

"According to Sours, the cuts were made as a result of the economy and increased competition from Pennsylvania gaming resorts.

"Sours stated that the cuts were also made based on the anticipated volume of revenue in different departments within the next six months to a year.

"...In November, Mountaineer eliminated 93 jobs
