Mountaineer Casino cancels 51st running of West Virginia Derby

(PRESS RELEASE) -- After much discussion and consideration, Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort has made the very difficult decision to cancel this year’s running of the 51st West Virginia Derby, as well as the entire race card, for Saturday, 1 August 2020 for the health and welfare of all involved.

Live racing will continue as scheduled Sunday-Wednesday, with a 7 p.m. post time.
