Mohegan Sun hosts Commodores, George Wallace

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Commodores and George Wallace are teaming up to bring a spectacular night of music and comedy to Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday, November 23rd at 8:00pm. This outstanding combination of talent is sure to prove a great time by all in attendance.

Tickets are $35.00 and go on sale Friday, September 21st at 10:00am through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com; call any Ticketmaster Charge by Phone number; or visit any Ticketmaster outlet. Tickets will also go on sale at the Mohegan Sun Box Office on Saturday, September 22nd, subject to availability.

The Commodores entered the public's consciousness while opening up for The Jackson 5 in 1971. They hit it big with the instrumental title track of their debut album "Machine Gun," and followed with a string of 22 gold records, six platinum, two double platinum and three triple platinum albums, selling close to 40 million records. The group scored with hits such as "Brick House," "Slippery When Wet," "Fancy Dancer," "Sweet Love," "Easy," "Three Times A Lady" and "Still."

George Wallace began his comedy career as a writer for NBC variety show The Redd Foxx Show in the 70s. As his reputation in comedy grew, Wallace was recommended to be a competitor for the cable television special The Big Laff Off. He went on to win the competition and captured the first prize of $2,000 and club engagements all over the country. In 1995 he won an American Comedy Award as "Best Stand-up Comedian" and since has been featured on numerous comedy specials and guest starred in countless television shows and feature films. George Wallace derives his comedy from everyday, simple sharing moments of life and manages to find humor everywhere he turns.
