Mohegan Sun hoping cost cutting works

26 May 2010

ONNECTICUT -- Times were good for the Mohegan Sun for a lengthy near 10 year spell, but the recent recession provided challenges, according to a report in the Norwich Bulletin.

Mohegan Sun employees received bonuses, raises during the good times and the gaming authority took care of employees during the recent bumpy patch, the report said.

Instead of resorting to layoffs, salaries were reduced, and spending was carefully curtailed, The Norwich Bulletin said.

The Mohegan Sun trimmed back what it could and CEO Mitchell Etess said employees were grateful, "they wanted to keep their jobs" he was quoted as saying in the Norwich Bulletin report.
