KemperSports to manage Foxwoods Casino golf course

24 February 2023

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation announced that they have selected KemperSports, a leading golf, sports, entertainment and hospitality company, to manage Lake of Isles in North Stonington, Connecticut. KemperSports’ focus at Lake of Isles will be to leverage its experience in working with other tribal nations across the country and managing some of America’s premier golf destinations to elevate Lake of Isles’ national reputation as a first-class golf club and resort by delivering TrueService to members and guests while also enhancing member engagement at the private member South Course.

“Lake of Isles holds a cherished place in the hearts of our community, so we are overjoyed to embark on this new partnership with KemperSports to reinvigorate the property,” said stated Chairman Rodney Butler of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. “We’re looking forward to seeing their demonstration of excellence and unwavering dedication as they work to present it as the preeminent golfing experience for our entire community. This is yet another exciting partnership for us, as we continue to partner with like-minded companies to bring our visitors and guests world-class experiences for the whole family."

Opened in 2005, Lake of Isles is a 36-hole Rees Jones-designed golf club owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and located adjacent to Foxwoods Resort Casino, which has been voted the best casino outside of Las Vegas for four consecutive years by the Readers' Choice Awards from USA Today. The North Course, a public resort course open to daily-fee golfers and Foxwood Resort Casino guests, and the South Course, a private member course, wind their way through 900 acres of wooded Connecticut countryside and around a 90-acre lake.

“With two of the state’s most highly rated courses, Lake of Isles is a wonderful property for its members as well as visitors to the resort and local area,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to working with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to take the member and guest service experience to new heights.”

The two courses feature rolling terrain, island greens and tees, and extraordinary views within an incredible natural landscape, offering players a unique golf experience. In addition to the two courses, amenities include a 50,000-square-foot clubhouse and a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor golf academy and practice facility.

Both Lake of Isles courses have also earned national recognition since opening. For 14 years in a row, both courses have ranked inside the top 10 of Golf Digest’s “Best in State” rankings. Meanwhile, the North Course has consistently ranked in the top 30 of Golfweek’s Top 50 Casino Courses and among its list of the country’s Top 200 Resort Courses over the past five years.
