Iowa casino meeting pushed back

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- As reported by the Quad Cities Online: "City officials have pushed back the public meetings on the prospects of the Isle of Capri moving its Davenport casino off the riverfront.

"On July 13 Mayor Ed Winborn had announced three public meetings would be held to discuss the Rhythm City Casino's possible move to the city-owned RiverCenter, and a proposal to build a 10-story hotel and parking ramp for the relocated casino along the riverfront.

"...Now scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7, 16 and 28 at the RiverCenter, the forums will look at downtown land use and economics; community goals if the casino were to relocate; convention, trade and gaming market presentations; and urban design brainstorming.

"A final meeting, at noon Aug. 30 in city hall, will be a review of the public input and meeting sessions..."
