Horseshoe Hammond Casino numbers rise

INDIANA – As reported by the Gary Post Tribune: "Horseshoe Hammond Casino drew in big money last month, increasing its September numbers to $38.2 million, up 15.8 percent from the $33 million in winning revenue it took in September 2005.

"Resorts East Chicago and Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City both increased their winnings from a year ago as well. Blue Chip Casino posted the largest percentage increase: 20 percent in new business over last September, only nine months after installing its new one-floor boat.

"…Rick Mazer, general manager for Horseshoe, said the casino redirected marketing and went after various segments in response to the continuing construction of the Dan Ryan Expressway. It included attracting customers from areas where there may be less trouble getting to the Hammond casino. The company also pushed the Horseshoe games…"
