Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City partners with Black Law Student Association28 February 2023(PRESS RELEASE) -- On 10 February, Harrah's Atlantic City and the Northeast Region of the Black Law Student Association joined forces to host a successful blood drive. The event was part of an initiative from the Atlantic City Chapter of CHORUS, one of Caesars Entertainment’s Business Impact Groups, which brings together like-minded team members and their allies to support each other and their communities through dimensions of diversity. CHORUS, the BIG for Black and African-American team members and allies, gave blood and volunteered for the Red Cross. Laurie Saint Clair, from the American Red Cross Penn-Jersey Region, stressed the importance of blood donations, stating, "There's no substitute for blood. When a patient receives blood, it was given in advance by a generous donor. Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood." The blood drive at Harrah's Resort is part of an ongoing commitment by the casino and its sister properties, Tropicana and Caesars, to support the Red Cross and its life-saving work. In 2022, all three casinos collected 270 units of blood, with Tropicana leading the way with 130 pints. The casinos have committed to hosting blood drives in 2023 and encourage everyone to consider donating blood to help those in need. |
