Hard Rock Lake Tahoe goes pink in October

16 October 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Put those Halloween decorations away — Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Lake Tahoe is going pink for October.

The resort is rocking a property-wide push for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, turning its exterior lights pink and urging employees and guests to join in support of the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League.

Throughout the month, a portion of the proceeds from sales of limited edition Pinktober T-shirts, pins and the Hard Rock's signature Pink Hard Lemonade drinks will benefit the nonprofit, and guests can also give by purchasing a $50 upgrade to a Pinktober room with a lakeside balcony.

Behind the scenes, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe employees will be holding a breast cancer awareness door decoration competition as well as making donations in exchange for merchandise and the chance to leave their handprints on a Love All, Serve All wall.

"We are fully embracing one of the Hard Rock pillars of 'Love All, Serve All' with Pinktober and wanted to directly impact our local community with all funds raised," says Director of Marketing Alisa Mirabal.

Now in its 37th year, the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League is a 100% volunteer organization offering no-cost resources, including transportation and limited financial assistance grants, to cancer patients who are in active treatment. All funding for its programs comes from individual and business donations.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe has also lined up a series of benefit events to maximize support during Pinktober. On 14 October, the $20,000 Pinktober Slot Tournament offers an opportunity to win big money with only a $50 buy-in. Both the buy-in and re-buys are going to the non-profit, and every $10 ticket from the 21 October concert starring Reno funk/soul act Mojo Green will also support South Lake Tahoe Cancer League.

Without question, the must-attend event on the Pinktober calendar will be "An Evening with Dan Aykroyd" on Friday, 27 October. The three-hour event begins with a cocktail reception presented by Aykroyd's Crystal Head Vodka label, which he founded in 2007. The "Ghostbusters" and "Saturday Night Live" alum will then meet and sign autographs with fans, and also take part in a Q&A session in the resort's ballroom. A live art auction featuring art created during the event from local artist Will Eichelberger will follow, with proceeds benefiting the Pinktober cause. Tickets to "An Evening with Dan Aykroyd" range from $49 to $99 and can be purchased on the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe website.
