Grgich Hills Estate offers five-course dinner at Pala Casino

13 December 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Napa Valley's Grgich Hills Estate winery will host a five-course dinner and wine pairing at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, 25 January in the underground wine cave at Pala Casino Spa and Resort. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Reservations, $85 per person, plus an 18% gratuity, may be made by calling 1-877-946-7252. Guests should ask to book the January wine dinner.

The first course will be tiger shrimp tempura with sweet chili aioli and lime chives paired with a Grgich Hills Estate Fume Blanc. The second course will offer roasted Maine lobster with potato parsnip gnocchi and nutmeg parmesan sage with a Chardonnay, followed by bacon-wrapped quail with chipotle maple glaze stuffed quail egg with a Zinfandel. The fourth course will offer bourbon-glazed short ribs with horseradish potato garlic chips paired with a Merlot. Dessert will be Chef Albert Cruz' chocolate creation with a Cabernet Sauvignon.

Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first gained international fame in 1976 at the Paris Tasting when his 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay from Napa Valley was chosen the finest wine in the world. That international recognition laid the groundwork for the creation of Grgich Hills Cellar in 1977 in partnership with Austin Hills and Hills' sister, Mary Lee Strehl, of Hillls Bros. Coffee Co. With its 2003 vintage, all Grgich Hills wines were labeled "Estate Grown." In recognition of that milestone, the winery changed its name to Grgich Hills Estate and remains committed to making distinctive wine with quality, consistency and longevity. In 2008, Miljenko Grgich was inducted into the Vinters Hall of Fame in recognition of his many contributions to the wine industry.
