Greektown Casino offer made7 April 2008SAULT STE. MARIE, Michigan -- As reported by Soo Evening News: "A downstate entity is reportedly offering $1 billion for the Sault Tribe's Greektown casino property and at least one tribe official acknowledges the tribe is talking with someone. "In a statement issued on Thursday, MJK Clinton LLC of Clinton Township, Mich. says it is offering $1 billion for the tribe's Greektown casino in two payments of $800 million and $200 million later. In an extended news release, MJK Clinton principal Steve Mitchell urges tribal members to approve the sale. "...Whether or not the tribe is interested in Mitchell's offer is profoundly unclear..." |
