Great Canadian Casinos Pays City $1.7 Million

COQUITLAM, British Columbia – As reported by the Tri-City News: "Coquitlam hit the jackpot this week with a $1.7-million pay-out courtesy of Great Canadian Casino.

"The city's windfall for last year's fourth quarter at the Boulevard Casino, located on United Boulevard, was $1,763,103, bringing the 2005 total to more than $6.5 million.

"Coquitlam receives a 10% cut from the local casino as part of an agreement to 'host' the facility. Since the casino re-located from Surrey in October 2001, the city has collected more than $23 million for its share…"
