Gold Strike appoints Robert Franklin as Executive Chef

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Gold Strike Casino Resort, one of the Mid-South’s premier casino resort destinations, announces the appointment of Robert Franklin as Executive Chef. Franklin will oversee menu planning and development operations for Gold Strike’s four restaurants. With more than 40 years of experience, Franklin brings a depth of culinary knowledge, ranging from fine dining, restaurants and management to specialty catering services.

“Robert’s skill and acumen will continue to distinguish Gold Strike at the forefront of culinary destinations,” Gold Strike General Manager Dean Rubin said. “With a rich background in management and diverse culinary skills, his artistry will continue to redefine the dining experience for each of our guests.”

Franklin’s vast expertise draws from previous positions as an executive chef and manager of restaurant operations, including his 11-year tenure at Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, La. Beyond mastering his craft in restaurants, bistros, exclusive clubs and bakeries throughout the South, his immense food background also includes two years studying regional cuisines from Milan, the Italian Alps, Bologna and Regio Emilio in Milano, Lombardi. When preparing his exquisite menus, Franklin incorporates his knowledge of American cuisine while drawing from his strong international food background, including Cajun, Cuban, French, German, Indian, Italian, Moroccan, Swiss and Thai cuisine.

“Food should be an experience,” Executive Chef Robert Franklin said. “It should take you on an immersive journey to delight the senses. I am thrilled to begin working with the Gold Strike team as we continue to build upon its rich culinary offerings.”

Gold Strike offers an array of delectable options to suit each guest's desires. These include the award-winning, five-star Chicago Steakhouse, which received the 2021 Wine Spectator’s “Award of Excellence” and Casino Player Magazine’s “Best Dessert.” Other food offerings include Buffet Americana, which offers a diverse range of classic fare, including mouthwatering brick-oven pizzas and the savory, diverse flavors of a Mongolian grill. The BetMGM Book Bar & Grill offers traditional, gourmet southern comfort food and pub classics, along with draft beer, wine and cocktails, sure to satisfy every food craving. The newly opened Rise Coffee and Bakery proudly serves Starbucks coffee and fresh, delicious baked goods.
