Global poker icon Daniel “The Kid” Negreanu supports Three Square Food Bank

19 March 2012

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu shared his passion and prowess in poker with four lucky Three Square donors last night. Negreanu hosted a dinner at Café Martorano as well as a private poker lesson package to the first four $1,000 donors during Three Square’s 2011 Fight Holiday Hunger campaign.

The four lucky donors were treated to dinner with Daniel at Steve Martorano’s famous Italian restaurant and later headed downstairs to the Rio Poker Room for a personal poker lesson and photo-op at the WSOP 2007-2010 Main Event final table.

The local Las Vegan not only supports Southern Nevada’s only food bank during the holidays but throughout the year as well, helping to assemble more than 6,700 Kids Cafe meals in the Three Square community kitchen.

“We’re so fortunate to have the support of poker-pro Daniel Negreanu who shares our passion for hunger relief and can continue to bring this critical issue into the lime light,” said Three Square Food Bank President & Chief Executive Officer Brian Burton. “It was a fantastic time at the Rio as well as a shining example of the support and compassion we experience from the gaming community and its professionals.”

Rio is home to the World Series of Poker, the largest, richest and most prestigious gaming event in the world awarding millions of dollars in prize money and the prestigious gold bracelet, globally recognized as the sport’s top prize. Featuring a comprehensive slate of tournaments in every major poker variation, the WSOP is poker’s longest running tournament in the world, dating back to 1970. In 2011, the event attracted 75,672 entrants from 105 different nations, and awarded over $192 million in prize money.
