Gladys Knight and The O'Jays headline Pala's stellar summer lineup

10 May 2013

PALA, Calif. (PRESS RELEASE) -- Pala Casino Resort and Spa announced Thursday that it will host three major shows in coming months, and one will bring the Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight, and the legendary O’Jays to the Palomar Starlight Outdoor Theater stage on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 5:30 p.m.

"Fluffy" funnyman Gabriel Iglesias will return to the Events Center on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m., and the world-renowned Chippendales dance troupe will host another "ultimate girls' night out" on Saturday, July 27 at 7 p.m. in the Infinity Showroom.

Tickets for Gladys Knight and The O’Jays will be $75, $65 and $50. Prices for Iglesias are $65 $55, $45 and $35, and $32 and $22 for Chippendales.

Tickets for all three shows will go on sale on Friday, May 17 at 10 a.m., with no service charge at the Pala Box office in the casino or at 1-877-WIN PALA (1-877-946-7252). Tickets also will be available at Star Tickets, 1-800-585-3737, or

Knight is a seven-time Grammy winner (four as a solo artist and three with her legendary Pips) and The O’Jays (Walter Williams, Eric Grant and Eddie Levert) are R&B/Soul legends who began performing in 1958. In 2011, Knight also received the Soul Train Legend Award.

Knight will perform many of her multi-platinum hits, including "Friendship Train," "If I Were Your Woman," and "I Don’t Do No Wrong." The O’Jays certainly will include "Lonely Drifter," "Back Stabber" and "Love Train" in their repertoire.

Iglesias’ high-octane, sold-out show was a highlight of Pala’s entertainment season last year and he again will perform new material, featuring an array of diverse comedians he has personally selected.

His third one-hour Comedy Central DVD Special, "Aloha Fluffy," is scheduled to air in spring 2013 on the network.

The Chippendale’s previous shows at Pala were all sellouts. The Chippendales were founded in Los Angeles and have performed all over the world.
