Fair Grounds Reorganization Deadline Moved

LOUISIANA – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: "The deadline for Fair Grounds to file a reorganization plan in bankruptcy court was moved from March 29 to April 15 after a state district court judge ruled on Monday that the historic New Orleans track owes horsemen $89.9-million from video poker proceeds earmarked for purses since 1994.

"Fair Grounds, which asked the court in December for an extension of the deadline, has also filed a lawsuit against the state of Louisiana, claiming the state is responsible for the damages due horsemen, Daily Racing Form reports…"
