Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots in New Orleans reopens Saturday12 June 2020Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans, LA announced today that it will reopen on Saturday, 13 June: "We are thrilled to announce the reopening date for Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots and the continued operation of all OTB & Casino locations. Things will be a little different for a while, but we are striving to deliver the fun, friendly and safe experience you’ve come to expect. Below is an overview of our current openings, as well as our new protocols put in place to ensure your safety when you visit us. Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots Fair Grounds Slots will be open as of Saturday, June 13 at 3PM. The Simulcast area will not yet be open and the Race Course area remains closed. Please continue to check our website and social media pages for updates as they come available. Fair Grounds OTB & Casinos All 12 Fair Grounds OTB & Casinos are open for your enjoyment. This includes Pari Mutuel wagering and video poker games at each location. Safety is Our Top Priority We are proud to be a part of the Greater New Orleans community and have worked with the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, state and local leadership, public health officials and sanitation consultants to develop comprehensive reopening protocols which include new health and safety precautions. These have been implemented at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots and all OTB & Casino locations. Practicing Social Distancing Maintaining a safe distance while having fun is job #1. To that end, we’ve disabled 50% of our gaming terminals and will be enforcing restrictions that limit Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots to 250 people plus staff and each OTB & Casino location to 25% of its rated capacity levels including staff. Please keep in mind that this may mean you could have to queue outside of the property to wait for your turn. Staff will be onsite to help with this process and provide updates whenever possible. In addition, we’ve installed numerous floor decals and signage throughout each property to illustrate proper distancing and inform you of the various guidelines and regulations. Ensuring a Healthy Environment All team members will be provided with masks and will be required to wear them while they are working. In addition, employees will have a health screening before reporting to work each day, including a temperature check. Guests will also undergo a temperature check by our trained Security Officers before entering the property. Guests are also required to wear a mask while on property. If you don’t have a mask don’t worry – we’d be happy to provide one for you. Please do not visit if you have a fever, if you are not feeling well, have recently traveled outside the U.S., or have had contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19. Stay home and visit when the time is right. Maintaining the Utmost Standards in Cleaning While you are on property you will most likely notice trained employees working hard to continuously sanitize our spaces. This includes cleaning each gaming terminal and all hard surfaces with the use of EPA approved cleaning products that are effective against COVID-19. Hand sanitizer stations have been installed at each property and will be readily available to you. Minimizing Large Gatherings As much as we love the excitement of big promotions, drawings and special events, we will have to put these on hold for now. It just wouldn’t be safe to have large groups of people gathering around together. As soon as we are able to do this safely, we will bring them back for your enjoyment. Food & Beverage Offerings For the time being, Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots will offer pre-packaged food service only and our OTB & Casino snack bars will be limited to serving hotdogs, chips and candy." |
