Dealers deny union intimidation20 March 2007ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- As reported by the Press of Atlantic City:"From behind a blackjack table, on a smoke break outside and inside the employee break room, dealers at Caesars Atlantic City on Monday said the casino's allegation that the United Auto Workers intimidated them into voting for union representation was false. "The election was fair, they said, and the 572-128 vote in UAW's favor spoke for itself: The overwhelming majority of dealers wants to be unionized. "Workers said that although the casino did not intimidate them, either, Harrah's Entertainment Inc., which owns Caesars, made the accusations to delay the bargaining process. "...But after the election results were made public Sunday, the casino company said that it would challenge the results, claiming the union had threatened employees..." copyrighted material written for and appeared exclusively in The Press of Atlantic City |
