17 January 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Wine lovers are in for a special treat at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, 23 February, when Paso Robles' Daou Vineyards hosts a Dinner & Wine Tasting in the underground wine cave at Pala Casino Spa and Resort in California.

Guests will enjoy a five-course dinner with wine pairings from Daou’s portfolio of fine wines. Dining and tasting will start with octopus with potatoes, peppers and beans paired with a Daou chardonnay.

The second course will offer smoked duck Muscovy breast with cherries and port syrup with zinfandel. Third will be lamb Colorado with rosemary, garlic, goat cheese dumpling and jus lie with Seventeen-Forty cabernet sauvignon followed by seared prime filet mignon with crackling, peppercorn, Chinese broccoli and wine reduction and cabernet sauvignon reserve. Dessert will be flourless chocolate cake with raspberries and granita, accompanied by Soul of A Lion cabernet sauvignon.

Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $85 per person and are available by calling 1-877-946-7252.

After successful careers as electrical and computer engineers, the French-born Daou brothers, Georges and Daniel, dedicated themselves to producing fine wines that would be recognized internationally. Drawing on their love of wine and life experience in France, the brothers founded Daou Vineyards in the Adelaide District of Paso Robles, CA, which offered a desirable terroir that fit their criteria for growing cabernet sauvignon and other red varietals.

Nicknamed Daou Mountain, the property features incredible building sites with enormous views for the Spanish style winery and tasting room inaugurated in October 2010. A feature of the property is a 1740 Spanish bell that also is part of the Daou label. Cabernet sauvignon, syrah, old vine zinfandel, merlot, a signature cabernet blend and a petite sirah blend comprise the current premium Daou collection.
