Daniel Lancaster takes first place in latest Pala 5K Nooner tournament

PALA, Calif. (PRESS RELEASE) -- Daniel Lancaster of Oceanside, Calif., was the chip leader when the final 10 players decided to chop and won $700 and first place in the Sunday, Aug. 18 5K Nooner poker tournament at Pala Casino Resort and Spa.

The $5,000 prize pool tournament hosted 47 entrants and the other nine winners requested to remain anonymous. Second through seventh place paid $500 each, eighth and ninth paid $450 and 10th paid $400.

The End of the Month 10K Nooner Championship will be played Sunday, Aug. 25. Registration will be accepted until 2 p.m. The entry fee will be $120 with a $10,000 guarantee. There will be two $25 re-buys or add-ons. The 10K Nooner Championship tournaments will now be played the last Sunday of each month. The winner's name will be engraved on the 10K Nooner Championship trophy which is on permanent display in the Pala Poker Room.

5K Nooner tournaments will continue each Sunday in September with registration until 2 p.m. The entry will be $50 + $15 with a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool. Players will start with $5,000 in chips and there will be an optional $10 staff bonus buy for an additional $2,000 in chips. There will be one $25 re-buy offered in the first four levels for $3,000 in chips. There will be late and re-entries for four levels. Blinds will be 30 minutes for four levels and 20 minutes thereafter. Those who play live poker from 8 a.m. to noon each Sunday will receive $500 in bonus chips for the 5K Nooner tournaments for each hour played.
