Connecticut slots show mixed results16 August 2007CONNETICUT -- As reported by the Conneticut Day: "Mohegan Sun increased its slot-machine revenue in July by more than 5 percent over the same period last year, while winnings dropped by slightly more than 1 percent at Foxwoods Resort Casino during the same time period. "In its monthly report to the state Division of Special Revenue, Mohegan Sun gained $88.9 million from its slot machines in July, an increase of $4.7 million or, 5.6 percent, over the same month last year. "...Foxwoods took in $75.2 million, a decrease of $960,000, or about 1.3 percent less over the same period. "John O'Brien, Foxwoods' president and chief executive officer, attributed the decline to the impact of construction on Route 2, but said he is confident the casino will continue to bring in higher numbers of customers over the summer months, as it did in June..." |
