Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort welcomes all to Winter Blessing10 November 2023(PRESS RELEASE) — Native American Heritage Month hits an entertaining, inspiring and delicious high note with the annual Winter Blessing at Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel on Sunday, Nov. 19. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for the family-friendly event, which begins at 2 p.m. “As we continue to celebrate Native American Heritage Month along with our 30 th anniversary of operation, we welcome winter with a blessing from our tribal family to all people,” says Laura Penney, CEO, Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel. “It’s our way of celebrating our deep culture and history in the Palouse region and giving the holiday season a special, memorable dimension.” Winter Blessing is an afternoon of traditional storytelling, dance, and food. Highlighting the festivities is a performance of “According to Coyote,” slated for 2:30 p.m. Coyote, the legendary hero of American Indian mythology, offers an encounter with the richness and vitality of Native American culture using age-old traditions of music, dance, and theatre. At 3:30 p.m, the resort’s online Ribbon Skirt Contest concludes as top five designers—determined by Facebook likes— will present their handiwork. Finally, all attendees will enjoy complimentary fry bread and huckleberry starting at 4 p.m. Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel is a tribally owned property just 50 minutes from Spokane International Airport. Along with live entertainment, the resort offers 300 guest rooms and 14 suites, more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, and the tranquil Spa Ssakwa’q’n, one of the largest in the Inland Northwest at 15,000 square feet.
