Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel takes 'Inspiring Workplace' honors

2 May 2024

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Continuing a streak of impressive recognition as a respected business leader, Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel won the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber "Inspiring Workplace Award" in the Large Business category at a ceremony on 27 March at the CenterPlace Regional Event Center.

The award is annually bestowed upon an area business that has “demonstrated an excellent place to work and the individual roles within, shining a spotlight on their inspirational leaders who strive to deliver a better experience for their colleagues.” Accepted by Community Outreach Specialist JR Gustin, the honor was one of six given during the ceremony, which recognizes organizations that excel in business innovation, create inspiring workplaces, and lead through community stewardship.

“We are thrilled to receive such esteem from an important local business authority,” said Laura Penney, CEO, Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel. “For 31 years we have operated on the premise that every employee, guest, and community partner is part of our family. As one of the area’s largest employers, we strive daily to strengthen that ethic.

“This honor reaffirms our commitment to our staff, immediate neighbors and the larger hospitality and gaming industries. We take our place in the market seriously and do our jobs with great joy and welcoming spirit.”

Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel is a tribally owned property located a 50-minute drive from Spokane International Airport. In March, the resort and its amenity golf course, Circling Raven won “Best Casino” and “Best Golf Course” from the Coeur d’Alene Press in its “The Best of North Idaho” awards program and earlier this year it was named “Large Business of the Year” as part of the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business & Nonprofit Partner Awards.

In addition, Circling Raven, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this season, improved by 10 places from last year’s ranking of “Top 200 U.S. Resort Courses, 2024,” an annual compilation of America’s finest places to play that is published conjointly by Golfweek and USA TODAY.

Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel offers more than 40,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, wedding venues, a newly remodeled event center, and the striking Stensgar Pavilion, a stand-alone 5,800-square-foot structure featuring both indoor and outdoor spaces and a “living roof” full of natural Palouse grasses and wildflowers.

In addition to casino gaming, 300 guest rooms and 14 suites, the tranquil Spa Ssakwa’q’n, one of the largest in the Inland Northwest at 15,000 square feet, allows ample space for guests to spread out and unwind in idyllic settings. There is also a wide variety of casual and fine dining experiences, highlighted by the resort's signature restaurant, Chinook Steak, Seafood & Pasta, renowned for its woodfire grill, eclectic menu and locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and main dishes.
