Circling Raven introduces indoor golf lessons

17 January 2024

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Nationally acclaimed Circling Raven Golf Club at Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel in Idaho is ensuring that golfers can hone their swings this winter with a newly launched lesson program in partnership with Scarlett’s Golf Experience in nearby Post Falls.

The special indoor Winter Golf Lessons include individual and group sessions designed by Circling Raven’s award-winning Director of Golf, Christopher Runyan, PGA, who has garnered multiple teaching awards for his instructional acumen.

Golf course simulators, an HD Virtual Golf Experience, spin technology, chipping and putting green, driving range, and other state-of-the-art tools are ready to help keep games sharp year-round.

The Circling Raven team of experienced golf professionals is offering lessons at Scarlett’s for $100 per or $350 for a package of four sessions. A two-hour period costs $175 and includes a playing lesson on a world-class golf course through the interactive simulator.

“Using an indoor golf simulator during winter offers golfers in four-season climates several benefits, including the ability to practice and maintain their skills regardless of weather conditions,” said Runyan, a Spokane native, Marine Corps veteran, former GOLFTEC Coach and winner of the 2020 PGA of America Patriot. “It provides a comfortable environment for continuous training, helps refine techniques, and allows golfers to stay engaged with the sport even when Circling Raven and other courses are not accessible. Additionally, the simulator experience can enhance mental focus and strategy, contributing to overall improvement in performance.”

Players who embrace the winter training will be primed to take on Circling Raven when it reopens for play this spring. The golf course climbed to No. 104 in Golfweek’s Top 200 Public Courses list in 2023, also ranking as the No. 1 public course in Idaho and No. 19 among “Top 40 U.S. Casino Courses.”

Owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe (and named for a seminal tribal chief), Circling Raven was designed by golf course architect Gene Bates and gloriously routes through 620 acres of dramatic Palouse terrain, part of the Tribe’s ancestral homelands. The stunningly beautiful landscape includes no surrounding development.

Located approximately 55 minutes from Spokane International Airport (GEG), Circling Raven measures 7,189 yards from the rear tees. A nationally honored retail shop and the excellent Twisted Earth Grill at the award-winning clubhouse provides superb food and beverages to slake the appetite of thirsty, hungry players.
