Casinos Fined for Letting Self-Excluded Gambler Play

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Associated Press: "Two casinos have been fined $10,000 apiece for allowing a gambler who had voluntarily banned himself from casinos to obtain cash and play.

"Resorts Atlantic City casino hotel and Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino both allowed the same gambler to play, in violation of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission's self-exclusion program.

"…The commission, which imposed the fines Wednesday, established the self-exclusion program in 2001 to help compulsive gamblers stay out of casinos.

"…In each case, he got authorization from Global Cash, took it to the casino cage, showed identification and got the money even though he was supposed to be banned from doing so…"
